Everything here is cut to your measurements after you order it. That makes buying from us a little different from a shop, so this page sets out what each side can expect.
An order is a request until we confirm it
Pressing Place your order sends us your details and the pieces you want. It does not complete a sale. We call you, usually the same working day, to agree the fitting, the timing and the final price. The order is on once we have both agreed on the phone.
Prices
The price shown against each piece is for the standard make in the fabric listed. Changes you ask for — a different fabric, extra work, an unusual size — can change the price, and we will tell you the new figure before we cut. Prices on the site can change at any time, but never after we have confirmed your order.
Fittings and measurements
Two fittings are included: one to take measurements, one on the toile or the half-made piece. Fittings happen at the studio in Surat, or over a video call if you cannot reach us. The measurements we take are what we cut from — if they were taken on a video call and something is off as a result, we will put it right, but we may need the piece back.
Payment
This site takes no payment. Nothing is charged when you place an order. Payment is arranged directly with the studio once measurements are taken. We will tell you the amount and how to pay it; please do not send money to anyone claiming to collect on our behalf.
Time
We give you a date when we confirm the order, and we keep you told if anything moves. Hand work takes the time it takes. If we are going to be late, you hear it from us before the date, not after.
Alterations
Alterations to a piece we made are free, for as long as the piece can take them. Bring it in, or post it to us.
Cancelling and returning
You can cancel at no cost any time before we cut the cloth. Once cutting has started, a made-to-measure piece cannot be resold, so a cancellation may cost you the cloth and the work done so far — we will tell you the figure plainly.
Because every piece is cut to one person's measurements, we do not take returns for a change of mind. If something is wrong with our work, or the piece does not match what we agreed, tell us within seven days of receiving it and we will repair it, remake it, or refund it. If you ordered while signed in, the order on your account page has a button for this, and you can send photos with it; otherwise call or WhatsApp us. A refund goes back the way you paid.
Cloth and colour
Fabric is dyed and woven by hand, so colour and weave vary a little between runs, and a screen never shows a colour exactly. That variation is the nature of the cloth, not a fault.
Your account
Signing in is optional, and only there so you can see your own orders. Keep your Google account secure; we treat anyone signed in as you. See the privacy page for what we keep.
This website
The photographs, drawings, designs, text and logo on this site belong to Atharvam Design Studio. Please do not copy them for your own selling. We try to keep the site accurate and running, but we cannot promise it will never be wrong or never be down.
Where disputes go
Indian law applies, and the courts of Surat, Gujarat have jurisdiction. Before it ever comes to that, call us — almost everything is settled with one phone call.
